Alumnae Mother & Daughter Re-Create Commencement Moment
At the close of Thomas Aquinas College’s 1989 Commencement ceremony, new graduate Annie (Tobias ’89) Walsh excitedly embraced her mother, and a photographer from the Ventura Star–Free Press caught the moment in a joyful photo that made the next morning’s edition (June 11, 1989):
Thirty-two years later, Mrs. Walsh and her husband, Dr. Thomas Walsh (’78), returned to the ÌìÃÀÓ°Ôº campus Saturday for the graduation of their daughter Cecilia (’21). To mark the occasion, mother and daughter re-enacted the scene from 1989, captured below:
