Closing out a most musical weekend on the New England campus, the Thomas Aquinas College Choir and Orchestra took to the stage for a Christmas concert on Sunday, December 3 鈥 open not only to the students, faculty, and staff of the College, but also to friends from the wider Northfield community.

Playing for an audience in the Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati Student Center, the concert began with the orchestra鈥檚 performance of Arcangelo Corelli鈥檚 seven-movement Christmas Concerto. To round out the first half of the program, the choir then sang Bach鈥檚 Uns ist ein Kind geboren, featuring three student soloists. Soloists featured heavily in the second half, as well, with Trinity Duggan (鈥24) and Zoe Grimm (granddaughter of Director Stephen Grimm 鈥75), singing two moving arias to Our Lady before the full choir and orchestra plunged into selections from Handel鈥檚 Messiah.

鈥淚 really loved the concert,鈥 said one friend of the College. 鈥淚t鈥檚 not often that we get to just sit and appreciate beautiful music. It was also lovely to see so many young people excited about singing classical music!鈥
